As someone who struggled with breastfeeding myself and needed support to get started, I decided to train with the National Childbirth Trust after my second son was born. After three years of study, I qualified as a breastfeeding counsellor in 2009 and currently live in Sevenoaks with my husband and two sons.
During the last ten years I have supported families in the west Kent area with breastfeeding at drop-in clinics, on the phone and by making home visits. My aim is to respond sensitively to each family’s needs, sharing my knowledge and practical support to help them achieve positive, happy breastfeeding relationships which enable mothers to breastfeed for as long as they wish. In addition, I facilitate antenatal sessions for couples which I thoroughly enjoy and attend regular study opportunities to keep my practice up-to-date and current. I consider myself lucky – I have a role which brings me enormous pleasure while at the same time helping others.
